Susan Hart (DK)

Psychologist, PhD and the pioneer behind neuroaffective developmental psychology

Susan Hart is a renowned psychologist with a long and diverse career in the adult, child, and family sectors, where she has served as the head of a family treatment centre and worked in child and adolescent psychiatry. She is a certified specialist in psychotherapy and child psychology and received her PhD from Aalborg University in 2018.

Susan is the pioneer behind neuroaffective developmental psychology, a theory that integrates developmental psychology, attachment theory, trauma research, and neuroscience. She has developed several assessment methods and intervention programmes, including NUSSA, UNG, and Parenting in Harmony, the latter of which is a programme designed to strengthen the interaction between parents and children.

Her work is characterised by a close integration of practice and research, as reflected in her participation in a major research project on assessment methods for social educators. Susan is recognised for her ability to make complex psychological concepts accessible through her lectures and courses, both nationally and internationally.
