Marie Louise Stochholm (DK)
Sociologist specializing in pedagogical professionalism, co-founder of the consulting firm Sopra, and specialist, lecturer, and supervisor in developmental disabilities and autism
Marie Louise holds a Master of Science in Social Sciences and Psychology with a specialization in pedagogical professionalism. She is co-owner and co-founder of the consultancy firm Sopra, which provides advisory services, competence development, and supervision within the specialized social care sector.
Marie Louise is deeply committed to collaboration—both with the individual citizen and among the associated professionals. Marie Louise is rarely found behind a desk; instead, she is out in the various activity offers, where, together with professionals and the citizens, she develops interventions that promote well-being in daily life.
Marie Louise has a particular focus on relational interaction and views relational competence as a professionalism that must be emphasized, developed, and appreciated. Relational safety is crucial for the success of an intervention. In this light, Marie Louise is puzzled by how limited our professional language is regarding the relational dimension of pedagogical practice and how little the citizen’s perspective is involved in adjusting the interaction, contact, and collaboration with that specific citizen. Therefore, Marie Louise wishes to work on expanding the professional language around relational competence and collaboration. This requires professional determination, personal courage, and a strong focus on the insider perspective.
